Monday Sept 10

10:30 a.m. Kids in the Kitchen – Darcy Becker, OSU Extension

Fun food activities that kids will enjoy

12:00 p.m. The Basics of House Plant Care – Dr. Robert W. McMahon, OSU ATI

Basic house plant care guidelines will be presented.
Topics will include: containers, soil, watering, fertilizing,
light requirements, easy-to-grow house/foliage
plants and insect pests and diseases.

1:30 p.m. Mesh Fabric for the Holidays – Keith Grafton, Pat Catan’s

How to use this new floral mesh product to
create a wreath for the holidays

3:00 p.m. Building Healthy Garden Soils – Rory Lewandowski, OSU Extension

Will cover basic soil properties and indicators of soil health.
Participants will learn how to use cover crops, livestock manures
and compost to build soil health.

5:00 p.m. Chair Caning - Ashland Senior Citizen Center

This is a service of “lost art” provided by volunteers of the Senior Citizen Center at a cost determined by the chair type and seat/back size. Chairs have been caned at the Center for the past 41 years. We are a non-profit, self-supporting organization. Chair caning is one of our primary incomes for operating the Center.

12:00 p.m. Scrapbooking 1-2-3 – Margaret Leatherman, Creative Memories Consultant

Limited time to scrapbook? I’ll show you a 3-step process to create beautiful family scrapbook albums. For both beginner and seasoned scrapbookers. Step 1 - set your goals. Step 2 - gather your pictures. Step 3 - assemble and journal your album. I'll address both traditional and digital photos.

From Peach Tea to Peach Enchiladas, Rosalie will share ideas and recipes featuring this favorite in-season fruit. You’re sure to enjoy!

3:00 p.m. Composting for the Home Gardener - Rory Lewandowski, OSU Extension

Will cover basic composting terminology and principles. Participants will learn how to build, maintain and use a home composting system.

4:30 p.m. Crockpot Delights – Darcy Becker, OSU Extension

How to use your crockpot to make entertaining easier

10:30 a.m. Kitchen Kreations – Wooster Neighborhood Group of the American Sewing Guild

Patterns and ideas for making items for the kitchen and dining room.

12:30 p.m. Tracing your Family’s Heritage – Deb Kitko, Wayne County Public Library

Learn the basic steps to trace your family’s history.

2:00 p.m. ‘Morning Glories’ Decorative Painting Make It-Take It – Deb Welty, Jubilee Junction Art Studio

Pen and ink ‘Morning Glories’ with oil rouging on watercolor paper with a 16”x20” mat included.. Cost: $15 (includes pen, mat, paper and use of paints and brushes). Limited to 12 students (first come, first served).

4:30 p.m. Quilts and More – Tree City Quilters Guild

A potpourri of quilting patterns & techniques featuring ‘eatable’ pin cushions & other fun quilting ideas and hand-piecing the Dove in a Window square.

Thursday Sept 13

10:30 a.m. In the Sewing Room – Dorothy Lackman & Pat LeFever

Easy ways to cut bias and make bias tape, piping, cording and binding. Plus working with fleece and making sweatshirt jackets.

12:30 p.m. Dollars for Dreams – Tami Reynolds, Whitcomb & Hess, Inc.

2:00 p.m. Quilts and More – Tree City Quilters Guild

A potpourri of quilting patterns & techniques featuring “no raw seams” pillowcases, the Exploding Pineapple square and reversible table runners.
