Third Annual Old-Fashioned Farmhouse Holiday at The University of Akron Wayne College
Saturday, December 12th
3pm to 6pm
At The Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse on the Wayne College Campus
The Third Annual Old-Fashioned Farmhouse Holiday at The University of Akron Wayne College will continue the carriage rides, carolers, cookies and visit with Santa that have been part of the first two events, but some things will be slightly different this year.
The time has moved up an hour and the event will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse on the Wayne College campus. Photos with Santa will be moved to the larger classroom area, allowing more space for parents to wait while children have their photos taken. Also, photos this year will be free. The photos will print instantly and children can color a holiday frame for their new picture in the kids’ craft area on the second floor.
Last year’s popular horse-drawn carriage rides will return, weather permitting, to let visitors see the campus from a different perspective for $1 per person. Other outdoor activities include carolers and free refreshments including cookies, hot chocolate and coffee.
Another new feature this year will be an outdoor heated tent for visitors as they enjoy the carolers and refreshments.
The Barnet-Hoover Farmhouse was built in 1818 and sits on its original location on the Wayne campus. The house was renovated in November 2005 to be used as a small classroom or meeting space for area businesses and organizations.
