Jan. 21 is Deadline to Register for Ohio Maple Days Workshop

Ohio State University Extension reminds maple producers that Thursday, Jan. 21, is the deadline to register for this year’s Ohio Maple Days workshop. Call 330-263-3799. The $30 cost includes lunch.

The program — a preseason update with expert speakers and a trade show — takes place Jan. 28 in Morrow County, Jan. 29 in Wayne County and Jan. 30 in Geauga County, with the speakers and topics the same at all three locations.

In Morrow County, meet at the Lutheran Memorial Camp, 2790 State Route 61, south of Fulton; in Wayne County, in the Sprunger Building at the Kidron Auction, 4885 Kidron Road, in Kidron; and in Geauga County, at Joe J.S. Miller’s Window Shop, 15020 Shedd Rd., in Burton.

Featured speakers are Steve Childs of Cornell University’s Sugar Maple Research and Extension Program, Larry Gearhardt of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation, and Gary Graham of OSU Extension’s Maple Program and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC).
