Free Tax Preparation offered at the Community Center
Free income tax preparation is available at the Wooster Parks and Recreation Department, Community Center, 241 S. Bever Street, to low and middle income residents. Appointments are available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. The program is running now through April 12th. Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the Wooster Community Center at (330) 263-5207.
Tax-Aide volunteers are not trained to process business, rental property income, or complicated tax returns. Participants are reminded to bring last year’s tax return, all earnings statements to include W-2s and 1099s, the amount of the Economic Stimulus Rebate received in 2009, and any tax-related materials (interest and dividends received, stock sales, real estate tax bill, etc.). A photo I.D. and social security card are required for identification purposes.
