Community Indoor Soccer & New Youth Leagues Planned
The Department of Recreational Services at Ashland University will be expanding its Community Indoor Soccer League to incorporate a Youth League with the existing Adult League.
This new Youth League will be for children 10 years old and under and will provide the opportunity for youth players to advance their basic soccer skills and practice good sportsmanship.
The Adult League will be offered again for the third year in a row and has been split into two divisions – an Elite Division and a Competitive Division. The Elite Division is geared toward the serious player and provides a high level of competition. The Competitive Division provides a high quality competition for players who are looking for an alternative to the Elite Division.
Play begins the weekend of Jan. 15, 2010, and will run every weekend until March 14. The league provides a great way to get involved in community events and to stay fit. Teams can sign up at the Ashland University Rec Center. The deadline to register is Friday, Jan. 8, by 5 p.m.
Those with questions can contact: Wes Bonadio, assistant director of programming, Ashland University Department of Recreational Services, at 419-289-5440.
