Cahn Grove Skate Park Fundraiser
CAHN GROVE SKATE PARK FUNDRAISER
Doug Brown, professional skateboarder will be making an appearance on Sunday October 17th from 1-4pm at the Cahn Grove Skate Park in Ashland. Brown will be giving a demonstration and a motivational talk on skating straight – enjoying life and skateboarding without drugs.
There will also be a skating contest with prizes for each age group. There is a $5.00 entry fee/donation to help cover costs.
Food will be available for donation, which will be provided by Park Street Brethren Church.
This fundraiser is being sponsored by Park Street Brethren Church, Ashland, Ohio, with the intent of raising enough money to repair some of the ramps in the park. Many are in bad shape and need repair to prevent injury to young skaters.
This event is free and open to the public.
Doug Brown is a motivational speaker, published author, full-time professional skateboarder and founder of Skate Straight. Doug’s love for the world of skateboarding began in 1986. He and his buddies spent every available moment on their boards throughout junior high and high school. While the skateboarding trend has waxed and waned in popularity, Doug’s commitment to the sport remained constant. His skate life began by chance in 3003 when he worked his way into the Gravity games and caught the eye of his first two sponsors. N After that, he began skating demos and winning several competitions throughout the states. After twenty years of boarding he is still faithful to his original style of skating while integrating new moves into his repertoire. Currently Doug can be seen skating anywhere from four to six skateparks a week, as well as making personal appearances at various events. He has participated in the AST Dew Tour, Gravity Games, The Summer Invasion Skateboard Series and numerous television spots on Much Music TV, 54321, Fuel Network, ABC Sports, ESPN, and Fox Sports. Sponsorships include Ninja Bearings, Negative 1 Griptape, Sneaux Shoes, Dunkees and Triple 8 helmets. Notable causes include involvement with Athletes For Hope and his highly acclaimed Skate Straight Program.
