Breakfast With a Very Hungry Caterpillar Event

The Ashland University Bookstore would like to invite some very hungry children and their parents to attend the bookstore’s Breakfast with the Very Hungry Caterpillar event.
The Ashland University Bookstore will be hosting the breakfast event Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Heritage Room in the Upper Convocation Center in order to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the popular children’s book. There will be seating for breakfast at 9:30 a.m. as well as 10:30 a.m. and the breakfast buffet will consist of typical breakfast fare, including eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit, pastry, juice, coffee and tea. Tickets are limited for both times and it is recommended that those who wish to attend purchase their tickets early. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased at the Ashland University Bookstore.
Following the breakfast, there will be a special Eric Carle story time that will take place in the Ashland University Bookstore, located in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center. Children will not only be able to listen to the story, but they will also be able to see the Hungry Caterpillar come to life when they are visited by the character. There also will be special give-a-ways and plenty of goodies.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle was published in 1969. Since its publication, the book has been read by countless children, and has remained one of the most loved children’s books of all time. As this year marks the 40th anniversary of this children’s book favorite, bookstores, schools, and libraries all over the nation are hosting events to celebrate the occasion.
According to the Eric Carle website, March 20th is going to be “The Very Hungry Caterpillar Day” with special events happening around the country. Also happening in March is the publication of a special edition of the Very Hungry Caterpillar, which will include pop-up illustrations and 3-D format.
