Perspectives on the World Christian Movement Fairlawn Mennonite Church Event Name: Perspectives on the World Christian Movement Event Date and Time: Sundays January 6 - April 21 5:30p - 8p Learn firsthand from the global experiences of pastors, professors, Biblical scholars, mobilizers, theologians, missiologists and missionaries from the field. Winter/Spring Story Celebrations @ the East Branch Winter/Spring Story Celebrations @ the East Branch – Children ages 2-5, their parents or caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, crafts and more! Winter Story Celebrations @ the Central Library Winter Story Celebrations @ the Central Library – Children ages 2-5, their parents or caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, crafts and more! The Better Body 101 The Better Body 101 class is offered at both your Massillon Family YMCA and Towpath Trail YMCA. The Towpath Y class runs from January 8th through February 26th. Class is from 6:00 P.M.—7:00 P.M. The Massillon Family YMCA class runs January 12th through March 2nd and is from 10:00 A.M.—11:00 A.M. An advanced class, Fit Body 101, is also offered at The Massillon Family YMCA from 9:00 A.M.—10:00 A.M. during the same dates. Both Body 101 classes are $52 for members and only $72 for those not yet members. Wayne County Extension Agronomy Update Wayne County Extension Event Name: Agronomy Update Event Date and Time: January 17, 10:00 am Event Details*: An Agronomy Update program that will focus on current and upcoming issues in row crop production is scheduled for January 17 at Fisher Auditorium on the OARDC campus in Wooster. The program is sponsored by the Wayne County Extension office and Tyler Grain and Fertilizer of Smithville. Registration is at 9:30 am and the educational program will run from 10 am until 2:00 pm. Cost of the Agronomy Update program is $10/person which includes lunch and handout materials. The Wooster Hope Center Hygiene Distribution The Wooster Hope Center will now have its Hygiene Distribution and Free Lunch on the first Saturday of the month at 342 Nold Avenue (Daybreak Community Church). The next Hygiene Distribution will be on January 5,2013 from 1:30-4:00 PM. But there will also be free haircuts at the Hygiene Distribution. Please schedule a free haircut. The Food Distribution will now take place on the 4th Saturday of the month at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. We will no longer offer free haircuts during Food Distribution, but we will be offering free haircuts twice each month when the Hope Center opens in 2013. James Mismas Organ Concert Wooster United Methodist Church Event Name: James Mismas Organ Concert Event Date and Time: January 16, 2013 7:00 p.m. Event Details: James Mismas, an energetic, multitalented musician is the Director of Music/Organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Akron, OH. We are pleased to invite James back to Wooster UMC for our first of three Winter Music Series Events. This is a re-dedication event for our Aeolian-Skinner organ. Tickets are required. 330-262-5641 3rd Annual Waynedale Archery Tournament Waynedale Archery Club Event Name: 3rd Annual Waynedale Archery Tournament Event Date and Time: Jan 17 and 18 (5-9pm)Jan 19 (9am-5pm) Event Details: 3rd Annual Waynedale Archery Tournament will be held during the Northeast Ohio Sportsman Show at the Buckeye Event Center on Jan 17 and 18 (5-9pm)Jan 19 (9am-5pm). Civil War Roundtable Program Civil War Roundtable Program - Jan. 15, 2013, in collaboration with the Wayne County Libraries, commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War! You will want to be sure to attend this program which is scheduled to be in the Conference Room of the Wooster Library beginning at 6:30 p.m. There is no charge for the program. Wooster’s own Margo Broehl will be performing in “Triumph and Sorrow—the story of a station on the Underground Railroad in Ohio”. Abraham Morris and his wife Nancy operated a station on the Underground An Evening in Christ-Centered Four-Part Harmony An Evening in Christ-Centered Four-Part Harmony Event Date and Time: Sunday, January 6 at 6:30 p.m. Event Details: Spend the evening with His Bridge Builders Quintet and the Sweet Spirit Quartet in concert at Shreve United Methodist Church, 430 N. Main St., Shreve. This is a free concert, though a free-will offering will be taken to benefit the church's Cuba Mission trip in February. The concert will be preceded by a donation-only black bean and cornbread dinner at 5 p.m. Wayne County Choral Union Wayne County Choral Union Event Name: Beginning our New Season Event Date and Time: Jan. 8, 6:30PM Event Details: The Wayne County Choral Union will begin our new season with rehearsals for our Tenth Anniversary Concert to be presented in April.
