WHO: Haven of Rest Ministries WHAT: Christmas meals for homeless and needy men, women and children in our community. People who may be spending Christmas alone are also encouraged to join us. A traditional Christmas meal of turkey, homemade mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce, corn pudding, and pie. Each guest will also receive a bag of toiletry items. WHERE: Haven of Rest Ministries, 175 East Market St., downtown Akron Cedar Lodge #430 Wooster Lacrosse Club A pancake and sausage breakfast to benefit John Henry Beechy will be held on Saturday Dec. 29th from 7am to 11am. The benefit will be held at Yoder Lumber Co.'s Berlin branch, located at 4515 Township Rd. 367. John Henry of Saltillo worked at Yoder Lumber's Berlin location until about a year ago when he was hospitalized. He has been unable to work since that time and has spent considerable time in the hospital and is still recovering. His fellow employees have decided to have this benefit as a way to help with his medical expenses. Sausage will be prepared by Dennis Raber! Fairlawn Mennonite Church Learn firsthand from the global experiences of pastors, professors, Biblical scholars, mobilizers, theologians, missiologists and missionaries from the field. New Date! - Teen Mystery Dinner Costume Party – Teens ages 12 – 18 join us Saturday, December 29th from 4 – 9 pm at the Central Library to help solve the Case of the Flaming Science Lab. Use your sleuthing skills to figure out who set the lab on fire and stole the answers to the science test. Register early for your choice of character. Costumes are encouraged but not required. East Union Lutheran Church The Better Body 101 class is offered at both your Massillon Family YMCA and Towpath Trail YMCA. The Towpath Y class runs from January 8th through February 26th. Class is from 6:00 P.M.—7:00 P.M. The Massillon Family YMCA class runs January 12th through March 2nd and is from 10:00 A.M.—11:00 A.M. An advanced class, Fit Body 101, is also offered at The Massillon Family YMCA from 9:00 A.M.—10:00 A.M. during the same dates. 6th Annual Andy Dye Memorial Tournament Monday, December 24th, 10:00 am and 1:00 pm at Wayne Lanes in Wooster $25.00 per person ($100 per team) Money raised will go toward a first-year college student to help pay for books. Andy was killed in an automobile accident on January 9, 2007. For more information or to sign up, call Wayne Lanes at 330-264-9025 Wayne County Extension The Wooster Hope Center will now have its Hygiene Distribution and Free Lunch on the first Saturday of the month at 342 Nold Avenue (Daybreak Community Church). The next Hygiene Distribution will be on January 5,2013 from 1:30-4:00 PM. But there will also be free haircuts at the Hygiene Distribution. Please schedule a free haircut. The Food Distribution will now take place on the 4th Saturday of the month at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. We will no longer offer free haircuts during Food Distribution, but we will be offering free haircuts twice each month when the Hope Center opens in 2013.
