The Fireside Readers Book Discussion Group at The University of Akron Wayne College is underway for the sixth year. The next meeting will be Monday, Sept. 13 in the Wayne College Community Room at 7 p.m.

The group will discuss The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World's Largest Unsolved Art Theft by Ulrich Boser. Participants may reserve a copy of this book by contacting a local public library or by becoming a community member borrower at the Wayne College library.

The group meets the first Monday of the month for the remainder of the fall semester. In October, the group will read The Soloist. by Steve Lopez. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot is the selection for November, and December’s book will be The Good Soldiers by David Finkel.
Maureen Lerch, manager of library services at Wayne College, reminds book lovers that they can join the group at any time.

“There are no dues or commitments,” says Lerch. “Becoming a member is as simple as coming to a discussion. We have snacks and great talks about great books. Coming to one discussion doesn’t mean someone is required to come back, but we find that people have lots of fun and want to come back.”
For more information about the Fireside Readers or to be added to the e-mail list, contact Lerch at 330-684-8951 or mlerch@uakron.edu.
