Happy New Year

All the best to you and yours as we put a wrap to 2009. A tough year for many with the financial times that we are in but perseverance seems to be the key.

WQKT - STEVE SMITH CLASSIC

A big thanks goes out to everyone who was part of the WQKT - Steve Smith Classic this past weekend at the College of Wooster.

Ending football

Our high school football season wraps ups this weekend with the State Football Championship games. This will be our 14th consecutive year broadcasting all of the state title games from Stark County.

Something positive

Sports can sometimes bring out the best and the worst in people. We have all witnessed the ugly side of life in sports.

Postseason is here

The High School Football Playoffs start this week...just a little more special feeling involved...five area teams in...hard to believe that the season still has five more weeks until we decide the sta

Time is running out

A New Football Season

It all starts anew for us here at WQKT/WKVX this weekend. Not that we don't work during the summer, but when schools starts and football gets going, everything picks up. I think for all the guys that cover games here at Wooster Radio, we don't get excited until the first game gets underway. The summer is never long enough and we know that when football starts, our schedule changes dramatically. No more Friday nights off. No more Saturday afternoons off. However, once the season begins, we are excited about each week, because it does go quick. Football is special because each week is so important. With High School and College, one bad one could stun the whole season. Who are the teams to beat this year? It's the most obvious question for the last two weeks. The answer is, we'll see. With some excitement along the way, we expect another fun 15 weeks...all the way to the State Championships in Stark County.

Week 4 High School Football
