Tribe

I attended the Cleveland Indians Winter Press Tour last night. Just not the same excitement as in the past. The Indians have all but said that they are rebuilding. We all know this. The good news is that the last time the Tribe did this, it only took three years to get a serious contender. Normally, however, the plan is built around four or five years. The bad news is that you can't expect lightning to strike twice. Last night's players in attendance ( Aaron Laffey, David Huff and Chris Perez ) were great. Personable, engaging and fun to be around. Chris Perez event bought his own autographed jersey during a playful exchange with auctioneer Junior Miller. Perez then quietly went over and gave the jersey to a gentleman who was bidding for it before things got out of control. You want guys like that to succeed. As a fan, however, you hope it is sooner rather than later. Hold your breath, opening day is 66 days away.
