OSU mess

You have to wonder how it ended so abruptly for Jim Tressel. Last year at this time he could do no wrong, or so we thought. The biggest question mark in history hangs over the Ohio State program and it can only get worse over the coming months, and probably years. The NCAA will take its time sorting through the mess and the letters USC keep coming to mind. OSU will get past this eventually and fans will still pack Ohio Stadium this fall but it will feel different. Shock, disappointment and anger are just a few of the many words to describe the feelings felt by so many. After all, it is just sports, isn't it? A passion for the average fan, a hobby for others. I realized a while back that I am now considered "old school", whatever that means. Too much big business, too much money, too much everything. Most of us just want to root for our favorties and, win or lose, go on about our daily lives. This wont affect my daily life one bit. It will however, reinforce my feeling that we should never get wrapped up in "sports heroes". Whether teams or individuals, it is after all just a game, no matter how much passion we have for it.
