Football over
We talked at the station in mid-August that summer is kinda over with high school football almost here. We took a deep breath and said, ok let's forget about weekends off and see what we've got. Little did we know that it included a State Champion. Norwayne's historic run capped a great year for the area and us. We have been blessed thru the years with area teams going deep into the playoffs and extending the really fun part of the season. This year was no different. With Norwayne, Orrville and Smithville adding to the postseason treats, playoff time was again fun time. It was our 16th straight year of covering all the state championship games and for just the third time we had the privilege of seeing one of our locals' make the title game. We do pride ourselves in being professional and unbiased throughout the year but come state time we do, naturally, root inside for "our" teams. For Norwayne to win it all was truly great to see. It's a special feeling seeing the community support and excitement week after week. Our job was rather simple, just don't screw it up. The teams bring the excitement, we just relay it to those listening. As always, thanks to those that brought the excitment this year, one to remember.
