Another Title

Hard to believe that we can celebrate two area state titles in one school year but Waynedale made that happen over the weekend by winning the Division 3 State Wrestling Title. Not bad for little old Wayne County. Waynedale faced a different type of pressure being one of the favorites in Columbus but delivered in a big way, on the biggest stage. No area wrestling team had ever finished better than 5th before this year. The championship for the Bears was also the first state title of any kind for Waynedale High. Zeb Beam claimed Waynedale's only individual state title in Columbus but five teammates also wound up on the podium. An unbelievable season for a great team.
